| With classical type of fixation, Dr Surer, just like other orthopaedic surgeons, had met with intraoperative surgical problems causing weight bearing to be delayed in the postoperative period. Weakness or failure of fixation was due to persistent mobility between the head of the screw and the plate. Dr Surer came forward with a solution proposing fixation the screw to the plate by a device, which in itself, bolts onto to the head of the original screw. This technique was patented in 1988 and was referred to as Surfix®. | |
| Surfix Technologies aims at developing a variety of implants taking advantage of the patented Surfix® fixation technique. It also aims at improving the technique, with close collaboration from other orthopaedic surgeons. | |

Our company is liasing with prominent personalities in this field to develop a system of implants more suitable for the complex nature of bone fixation. Using state of the art soft ware technology, we have designed implants, which should be useful to the orthopaedic surgeon. We have also developed specialised instrumentation for each type of surgery. |
